The last 10 years have been an amazing journey for the TwentyFour IT Services team. Did you know that it was in our first year of re-branding as TwentyFour IT Services (formerly Stronghold IT from 2009-2014) that we won the Small Business of the Year Award at the 2014 Doncaster Business Awards? Back then, we had a team of 9 employees, working with about 80 businesses throughout the UK.
In 2014 Tony rebranded the business to TwentyFour IT Services. Seeing an evolving IT and Cyber Security landscape, with more businesses requiring support beyond the traditional 9-5 business model, this new name and new brand identity reflected this growing change, highlighting our dedication to support businesses when (and where) they need it. Throughout this time TwentyFour continued to grow organically throughout the local and wider regions, as well as in specialist areas of Logistics, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Accounting, Law, Energy, and Real Estate throughout the UK.
In late 2017, Mike Smith came into the business as Managing Director, bringing finance and helping create a strategy for the future. With Tony moving into the position of Chief Technology Officer and overseeing daily operations and driving organic business growth.
Through 2018-19 and up to the pandemic, we have seen growth in personnel numbers as our customer base continued to grow, requiring significant investment in training to enable best-in-class skills and internal processes designed to deliver what each client requires.
2020 & 2021 saw a drastic shift in the way businesses operate around the world, and our industry was no different. Many businesses were forced to migrate to remote working solutions (including ourselves). Despite this drastic sift, we not only supported our customers throughout this transition, putting new solutions in place to support them with this shift, we also onboarded many new clients throughout this time who did not have the solutions or infrastructure in place to facilitate remote working. Whilst many businesses were unfortunately making team members redundant, and in some cases we saw long-time clients who were forced to close their doors, we were growing our team to meet the growing demand that we were facing.
Since that time, we have grown to support more than 130 businesses throughout the Doncaster region alone, with a total of 274 clients throughout the UK (as well as businesses with offices based in 16 different countries around the world), supporting over 13,500 users, with IT Support, Solutions and Cyber Security services available 24/7 for those who need it, and providing a platform for mutual growth.
In 2023, after continued growth throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved into a new, larger office space in the heart of the Doncaster community at Doncaster Lakeside. This new space has been designed to foster collaboration and productivity throughout the team, enhancing their ability to deliver best-in-class IT Support, Services and Cyber Security solutions.
Having created a solid cohort of expertise ready to deliver and after many years of steady organic growth, primarily through word of mouth (and exceptional customer service, of course), in 2022 we expanded our marketing team with a new marketing manager and marketing executive to be able to lead our brand awareness throughout the local region and beyond.
From initial meeting to onboarding and daily support, we work closely with businesses to understand their working environment. We can then identify their unique needs for today while considering tomorrow and the foreseeable future. This provides a solid basis to offer and provide solutions that are tailor-made to suit each business.
We would say to every company, “We work to understand your business growth goals; where do you want to be in 6 months or even 5 years, allowing us to recommend and provide solutions designed to scale and grow with your business and help you achieve those goals?” The aim is always to allow each client to spend more time focusing on what matters most to them, running each business, with the assurance that our IT Support, Solutions, Cyber Security and other Managed Services will just keep working “for you and your employees, and if you need the support, we are here to help”. Our phone lines are always answered, and our doors are always open to speak with businesses of all sizes.
In 2024, we continued our growth as a business, further expanding our support base by 25% and increasing our head count to 48 employees over 3 offices, both in the UK and internationally, at our 24/7 office and Cyber Security Operations Centre.
And this leads us to where we are today, on the cusp of being recognised as a “Medium Business” (commonly referred to as 50-249 employees) in the 10 years following winning Small Business of the Year, significantly increasing our customer support base, increasing our employee count, expanding our service offerings and much more.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary of the TwentyFour IT Services brand, we have also been selected as finalists in 3 key categories in the 2024 Doncaster Business Awards.
Highlighting our exceptional support that we provide to each and every one of our customers, we average a 98.3% customer satisfaction rating throughout 2024 and more than 99% in the final few months of the year. Throughout the last 18 months we have drastically revolutionised our customer service processes, putting new processes in place to increase internal improvement and learning, vastly improving our escalation process, and innovating, with the introduction of our Neo IT Support Chat Bot, to provide automated and guided Line Zero support and seamless escalation.
Our TwentyFour In ‘24 Campaign has seen incredible success in business awareness throughout 2024, highlighting our unique brand identity, sponsoring events, creating new merchandise, creating educational content, drastically increasing our website traffic as well as our LinkedIn following within the business community, driving business, and increasing growth throughout 2024 and beyond.
We may not talk about it much, but did you know that we provide IT Support, Managed Services, and Cyber Security to our local business charity partner, ActiveFusion? Recognising the incredible work they do to enrich the lives of children and families throughout the local region, we wanted to give back to the charity and help them focus on what matters most.
We also continue our longstanding partnership with Doncaster Knights, supporting the work they also do in the community through rugby and sport in general.
As we enter our 10th year as TwentyFour IT Services, we will be continuing to celebrate our successes over the past 10 years, highlighting many of our new and long-standing clients, highlighting many of our amazing team, launching new marketing campaigns as part of our 10-year anniversary, as well as look forward to the years ahead.
